Pluto at 29' Capricorn

In 2008, Pluto entered Capricorn and deeply destabilized the financial world. Investors were devastated as they watched millions in investments evaporate before their eyes, and people who never even saw a stock trade became unemployed by the millions, and deep social and political unrest followed in many countries. Now, Pluto approaches the anaretic degree of Capricorn--and of course we see banks collapsing and minute by minute news on the state of the financial world... Pluto is the turn-over of power, and who knows what hands it will change into... In fact, the entire Pluto in Capricorn transit saw power changing from those who traditionally have held sway to those who Traditionally have held sway, if you know what I'm saying. Socially, I believe we did have a powerful change-over of authority from those who would dominate and control and belittle and use others, into the hands of those whose cultures and stories and selfhood and leadership hold natural, authentic authority because they act for the genuine good of the whole with rooted context and traditions. If 2008 was the beginning of Pluto's Capricorn transit, 2020-2023 are its magnum opus... you'll recall that Saturn and Pluto met in early 2020, an event astrologers were anticipating for years previous... destabilizing our familiar ways of doing things, shutting down small businesses, changing the way we approach every single sector... and the effects are still snowballing. The most intense/focused/obvious energy and expression of any sign is found at the anaretic, or last degree of that sign, so it makes sense that as Pluto traverses 29 degrees of Capricorn, banks are 'suddenly' collapsing. Pluto/Saturn energy (which all of Pluto in Capricorn is, in fact), was described to me by my teacher as 'castles built on sand'... what will fall, will fall, if it isn't grounded on a solid foundation, and that footing is mighty slippery with this one. Bail-outs and debts and people living way beyond their means is simply not sustainable, neither financially nor for the planet we live on, nor for our nervous systems and hearts. Pluto doesn't just fix everything it touches. Wouldn't it be nice if that were the case? It does however show up glaringly where the power is, and it moves with power to make changes. 'Magic is afoot, gOd is alive.." -Leonard Cohen*Buffy Ste. Marie The energy of Pluto in Capricorn has shifted a lot since Saturn entered Pisces last week; now, the dissolution begins in earnest... we need to let go. And as Pluto enters Aquarius, the Saturnian energy remains (as Saturn also rules Aquarius) but Pluto also takes on a new tone, as now it also defers to Uranus in Taurus.. Returning to the Earth and acknowledging the imperative for getting in touch in a deeply embodied way with the natural world will become an unignorable imperative and even more of a source of dynamic enlivement over the next few years; as will recognizing that we are part of a great interconnected community of sentient beings, all of whom affect one another hugely.
Cold profits are not going to cut it here; nor is acting 'for the greater good' when really individuals are suffering because of the choices made by a few people who think they are acting in everyone's best interests. Pluto will expose whatever issues there may be in the part of our charts and our collective which Aquarius rules, excavate them, flush them out and see humanity living and dying by them... the Internet, AI, and advanced technology, the ways we are altering the natural world by mining, extraction, and chemical processes, the awareness of toxins in our body and environment, will take on even greater importance as the web of beings which sustains life on Earth, the community of interrelationship to which we belong, is made vulnerable. Oh, and the landscape of our online communities will likely change drastically as well.
Sound a little scary? Sound like it will shake up some stuff we had been relying on? It will. It does. Pluto is not an easy happy energy to contend with. It is the very driver of our evolutionary intent on Earth, so it really makes things happen. When it moves, you know.

A picture of me, because I couldn't decide what to include for a picture, it's late, and I happen to be a very Plutonian and Saturnian person ;) (Sun, Rising, Mercury and Pluto in Scorpio; Saturn, Neptune and Moon in Capricorn)
